Delivering accessible quality service to all members, applicants, visitors and the public makes good business sense and is a vital part of co-operative housing, both past and present. In 2005, the Ontario Government passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act to make sure that people with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in everyday life.

Since 2012, housing co-ops are responsible for following the evolving AODA legislation. Learn about the standards your co-op needs to follow, how the standards have changed since 2012, and what to expect by 2025, when legislation to make Ontario fully accessible will be completely enacted.
